Caramel
Caramel came to
Animal Nannie from the Humane Society in February of 07. She had been at
the Humane Society for months waiting to get adopted. We decided to foster
her just to give her a little vacation. We found Caramel to be fearful of
men. After 2 weeks of taking her to Pets To Go-the mobile adoption unit, Margie
helped a very nice military family adopt her.

Molly
Molly came to us
from the Humane Society a few days after Caramel was adopted out. Molly
had been returned multiple times for being "dog aggressive". Once we got
Molly here and introduced her slowly and carefully to our 3 dogs, Molly easily
adjusted! Andy helped Molly get adopted out from the Pets To Go, mobile
adoption unit however she was returned. I believe she's
been adopted out again.
Cotton
Cotton was found
running around the Cotton St. exit on I10 in late February 2007. She was
found by Rebecca Rojas of The Animals' Voice who took her to the vet and found
us to foster her. Cotton was dumped and had been starved. She had a
broken pelvis and hip socket. Cotton is currently crate bound and still
healing. She is a wonderful and VERY loving dog who will make someone a
great pet once she heals up a little more! Cotton was finally adopted out
in June!
Tiger
Tiger was turned in
to the Animal Regulation and Disease Control on Fred Wilson. Tigers
previous owners kept him chained outside all day long. Tiger was a little
thin when he came to Animal Nannie at the beginning of March 2007, but has since
gained a little meat on his bones. Tiger was adopted out in May.
Jasmine, Gaston
and Belle
Jasmine (black and
white), Gaston (all white)
and Belle (grey and white) were turned into the Humane Society in early March 2007. We
don't know what happened to their mother but they were only 4 weeks old and
still needed formula before being introduced to cat food. They were all
adopted out in May.

Ariel
Animal Nannie got a
call from someone who had newborn kittens in the yard whose mother had abandoned
them. I referred them to the Humane Society who then turned around and
asked if I could foster them! Of course I said yes and started nursing
them from bottles. After a couple of days, one was just not strong enough
and didn't make it. Ariel however was a fighter from day one and after
about 10 weeks was returned to the Humane Society and got adopted out.

Reagan
Reagan
was one of my first Great Dane Rescue fosters. She had been abandoned and
was starving and running around stray in southern New Mexico. Reagan had a
very strong personality but with a little work and a lot of love over a few
months time, she eventually got adopted in early August.

Remington
Remington was
Reagan's best buddy. Remington also came to me from the Great Dane Rescue
of El Paso. He was a little dopey but such a good and loving boy. It took
a little while but Remington was adopted just before Reagan was in early July.

Dozer
Dozer was the first
dog that I went myself and rescued from bad conditions. Dozer is an
English Mastiff that the Great Dane Rescue took under their wing for me.
He was unbelievably skinny and was so beyond starving, he didn't even want to
eat! In about two months he is a healthy 6 month old who has doubled his
weight. There are lots of interested adopters and we're just waiting to
match him with the right family. He will be hard to let go!

Zilla
Zilla was my second
elective rescue. She was at the Humane Society and though she was in no
danger there, again the Great Dane Rescue stepped up and helped me take her in.
Zilla had a bit of weakness in the hips that is now under control. Just
like Dozer, we have lots of interest in her and have matched her with the
perfect family that will be getting her in a week.
